Christchurch, we have an incredible opportunity to have our very own work by Ron Mueck. Remember his exhibition at Christchurch Art Gallery in 2010/11 that wowed our city? Ron has only made 40 artworks in his life - and he's now agreed to make one just for Christchurch.
You're invited to get on board with the rest of our city to raise $207,000 yin pledges. We've only got five weeks to make it happen. Pledge big or small now until 5 November. From lapel pins to beer to first encounters with the completed work, we've got rewards for everyone who gives. Be sure to get in there pronto.
Our mission is to raise a total of $1 million and we're already over halfway thanks to some remarkable supporters. Join us now and pledge big or small to finish the job!
Pledge from 30 September - 5 November
Pledging also available in the Christchurch Art Gallery foyer or Design Store, or by posting funds to: Our Own Ron, PO Box 2626, CHCH 8140.
Rondezvous with us at Dux Central to celebrate the last day of Our Own Ron, Sunday 5 November. Click here for more info.
Ron Mueck came to Christchurch in a big way in the summer of 2010/11. Sandwiched between two earthquakes, Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetu hosted the most popular exhibition the city had ever seen - an astounding collection of Mueck's sculptures that wowed crowds.

Seven years later, the exhibition is still talked about. For many Cantabrians, it's a lasting memory of our vibrant central city before everything changed.
Ron is making a piece just for Christchurch but the details will remain a mystery possibly until the piece is completed. Your guess is as good as ours, but we know it'll be all about our unique city.
